Pedong is located on the road that connects Kalimpong with Sikkim. It is one of the oldest cities in this region with significant historical importance. Pedong is split into two parts – lower and upper Pedong. Famous St. Georges School is located in the lower part. In the past, when Kalimpong was a crucial trading place, the road here was used for trade between India and Tibet via Zuluk and Jelep La. Today, an equivalent route has become a standard tourist attraction.

The distance between Siliguri and Pedong is about 88kms. The travellers can hire a rental car or bus service to reach the destination from Bagdogra airport or New Jalpaiguri (NJP) station.
