Takdah Sightseeing

Takdah is an isolated, quiet and serene village situated at an altitude of around 4000 feet and nearly 28 kilometers from Darjeeling city. Although the altitude is much lower than in the city of Darjeeling, the place is cooler compared to the surroundings.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit Takdah is between October and March. The weather remains pleasant and not too cold and the sky remains clear to enjoy the scenic mountain views.

How to reach Takdah ?

Takdah is about 60kms away from New Jalpaiguri (NJP) station. You will have to take the Sevoke Road to go towards Teesta Bazaar and then you will take a road to the left which will lead to places like Bara Mangwa, Chhota Mangwa before reaching your destination, Takdah.
While coming from Darjeeling, You will need to pass the Jorebunglow, then followed by a left turn to the Peshoke Road. You will need to take a right turn from a place called 6th mile which will bring you to Takdah.

Attraction & Activities

Takdah is famous for its scenic beauty and tea gardens. Rungli Rungliot tea garden is among the most picturesque tea gardens out there.
There is a 100-year-old hanging bridge just below the Pubang Tea garden. Gielle Bhanjyang bazaar is another place to visit if you are in Takdah. There are a few famous monasteries in Takdah that are worth your visit.
