Kalimpong Division

Located in the Kalimpong district of the state of West Bengal, Sillery Gaon is a small village sitting at a height of 6000 feet. It is locally known as New Darjeeling. There are many myths and legends related to the name Sillery. It is said that it is a portmanteau derived from the word Sillery, a plant that grows in abundance in the region. This area is also rich in cinchona plantation, introduced to the region by the British as a source of quinine used to treat malaria.

Ramdhura

Ramdhura is a small village, located at 5,000 feet and at a distance of only about 15 kilometers from Delo in Kalimpong in the state of West Bengal. Ramdhura has a fantastic panoramic view. But the Teesta River, which flows beneath an imposing green valley, the pine forests, the Cinchona plantation and a flock of colorful birds and butterflies, also attract tourists.

Pedong

Pedong is located on the road that connects Kalimpong with Sikkim. It is one of the oldest cities in this region with significant historical importance. Pedong is split into two parts – lower and upper Pedong. Famous St. Georges School is located in the lower part. In the past, when Kalimpong was a crucial trading place, the road here was used for trade between India and Tibet via Zuluk and Jelep La. Today, an equivalent route has become a standard tourist attraction.

Icche gaon

Ramitey Dara offers the all-embracing perspective on the River Teesta and makes the incredible 14 turns through the rugged Himalayan valley. On a clear day, tourists can get a perspective on Mt. Kanchenjunga along the towns of Sikkim, Jelep La and Nathula from Tinchuley. The fortress of Damsang, the last house of the Lepcha King-GyaboAchuk, located at a distance of 6 km from Icche Gaon, is also a fascination for tourists.

Neora Valley

The Neora Valley park features a total area of 88 km². Neora Valley park is a compact piece of primeval forest, rich in biodiversity within the eastern Himalayas, a worldwide ‘biodiversity hotspot’. It had been notified as a park supported by the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972 within the year 1992. It borders Sikkim and Bhutan on the northern and northeastern borders respectively and connects the Pangolakha Wildlife Sanctuary in Sikkim and therefore the Toorsa Strict Reserve of Bhutan.
